- Single-line capacity produces 18,000 batteries/year on one shift.

Wireless Charging
Wireless chargers by Cadex serve mostly specialty applications.
Wireless charging is classified into inductive charging, resonance charging and radio (RF) charging. Most portable devices use inductive charging with transmit and receive coils in close proximity. The table lists the most common standards. Also see BU-412.

WPC or Qi (Wireless Power Consortium) | PMA(Power Matters Alliance) | AirFuel, formerly A4WP(Alliance for Wireless Power) | |
---|---|---|---|
Established | 2008, Qi was the first wireless charging standard. | 2012, by Procter & Gamble and Powermat. | 2005, 2012 by MIT, Intel, Samsung, Qualcomm. |
Technology | Inductive charging, 100-205kHz; coil distance up to 5mm. | Inductive charging, 277-357kHz; similar to Qi. | Resonant charging; loosely coupled; charges multiple devices simultaneously. |
Markets | Wide global use for portable devices. | Competitive with Qi. (PWA and AirFuel merged.) | Wearables, medical, IoT and low power industrial devices. |
Members & Companies | Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, LG, TI, HTC, Motorola, Nokia, Philips, Verizon, BMW, Audi, Daimler, VW, Porsche, Toyota, Jeep, etc. | Powermat, Samsung, TDK LG, TI, AT&T, Duracell, WiTricity, Starbucks, Teavana, Huawei, FCC, Energy Star, Flextronics. | Qualcomm, TediaTek, Intel, LG, HTC, Samsung, Deutsche Telecom, HP, Dell, Huawei. 3M, Motorola, Sony, Sharp. |
